Inspiration for my work came from a variety of sources. Valery Varemzaiden, who was an avant-garde sculptor and jeweler in Israel, was a great influence. Valery apprenticed with the famous Israeli sculptor Igael Tamarkin, who recently received an Order of Israel. I was fascinated watching the creative process as he showed me how he made a piece of jewelry. Other influences came from the time I spent at the Craft Center at the State University of Buffalo. There I made my acquaintance with Bill Helwig. I often observed him teaching his classes in enameling and jewelry making. He is a Master of the Grisaille method of enameling, an accomplished jeweler and is a prolific writer on the subject of enameling. He was very generous in sharing his knowledge and talent and it is my hope that I may perpetuate the same spirit of sharing.

There are many artists that have continued to inspire my work throughout the years. Some of these are: Benvenuto Cellini, Faberge, Lalique and other Art Nouveau jewelers.

For my gem cutting skills I am grateful to my first teacher Don Goodger. Don was one of the presidents of the Canadian Gemological Association and North York Faceting Guild and an accomplished gem cutter, educator as well as a wonderful human being. He was always there to answer all of my questions and his knowledge is legendary.

These pages will provide a forum, where my own jewelry and gem creations, as well the work of other artists will find a home. It is my hope that with time these pages will be filled with artwork of exceptional quality and caliber. At this moment this is still a work in progress so we ask for your forbearance.
